REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Support A Sharing EconomyWhat are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?
Sam Makarczyk 4/30/2020 11:23 AMThe benefits of a sharing economy would be really great, people would not have to buy a bunch of the same things because they could just borrow it from a friend. A sharing economy would change the dynamics I have with my friends, family, and neighbors by allowing us to be more open with each other and more willing to help. It would also bring people together to work as a group for the greater good of everyone. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Conserve Toilet WaterWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
Sam Makarczyk 4/30/2020 11:17 AMA sustainable water future in my region would be us being able to efficiently use the water around use but only use what we need and don't over do it. A big thing that would probably need to change would be less water intensive lawns and more efficient showers, baths, and toilets. People need to stop wasting water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place?
Sam Makarczyk 4/30/2020 11:14 AMSpending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place because you get a greater understanding of their area and what's around to do. It helps you better connect with the place around you if you know it more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Use a Reusable Water BottleUsing the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed - both humans and wildlife - by this bottling process?
Sam Makarczyk 4/28/2020 9:39 PMA couple of ways to advocate for those who have been harmed are to peacefully protest with signs and marches, you could also talk to your government people, (mayor, member of Congress, etc.). By doing this lobbying you can help convince politicians to help save water rights. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Sam Makarczyk 4/21/2020 8:44 PMI think that Rachel Carson's statement does ring true with me because I love nature and it constantly awes and surprises me with every part. Plus, being outside helps me take a break from everything and get some fresh air and relax. The implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors would be deprived of connection with the earth and nature and not be able to experience the joy of spending time outdoors.-
Lora Jones 4/21/2020 11:13 PMBeing in nature is certainly awe inspiring...It would be great if there were more classes outdoors or classrooms with glass walls. This futuristic design would be amazing!:

REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Sam Makarczyk 4/16/2020 1:39 PMConnecting with others can help your own mental and emotional help because it can bring joy into your life and have the ability to talk with other people outside your family which allows a break so you can virtually hang out with you friends; your chosen family. It can help support others because maybe they're feeling down and lonely and when you call them it can make them feel cared about and happy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Sam Makarczyk 4/16/2020 1:35 PMAnother way to reduce carbon emmissions is to only use lights when you need them and to turn them off when you are not using them.
