Renee Mazurek 4/22/2020 6:39 AM- Happy Earth Day to All! This is a beautiful, dynamic planet that we live on. I plan to get outside with my family on this sunny day! We've planted a new garden this year. Trying hard to grow food in the forest! I also used our compost to "feed" these plants. :)

Renee Mazurek 4/16/2020 8:44 AMI am encouraged today to see so many people (including my students - hi people!) joining and participating in this EcoChallenge! Keep up the good work! As I'm holed up in my basement trying to get some work done, I'm thinking of how gorgeous spring is in these mountains. I drove up to ABTech a couple of days ago just to get out. The river is high and the mountains are getting greener! of the house. I've always loved the view from there.-
Lin Orndorf 4/16/2020 11:11 AMI love that view!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Watch a Documentary about Food SovereigntyHow does food sovereignty address the complex agrarian transition to modern food systems?
Renee Mazurek 4/15/2020 12:51 PMFood sovereignty gives control of food as well as health back to people. -
Renee Mazurek 4/15/2020 12:46 PMThere's a PBS special offered as a video to fulfill this challenge. I found it very informative. A couple of important messages that seemed very relevant today: 1. We should take care of our elders, and 2. People take care of each other and share food with those in need. Another fun thing to learn is the high iron content of dandelions. My family just picked and ate some as fritters a couple of nights ago! -
Renee Mazurek 4/15/2020 6:34 AMI already do a lot of the actions listed in the challenge, as I've been working on these kinds of issues for a long time. So - I am going to look today for at least 2 actions that are new for me.-
Lin Orndorf 4/16/2020 11:09 AMI sometimes find it challenging to find an action that I don't already do and am able to commit to.

Renee Mazurek 4/14/2020 7:38 AMI've invited my ABTech Geology 111 class to join the EcoChallenge as an extra credit assignment for our class. This is a great way to raise awareness and celebrate Earth Day. Thanks for putting this together! I'll miss the live event on campus. I still have my bamboo from last year...as well as my bag. Here's to new ideas and sharing with our ABTech community. :)
