Composting really makes you understand how much food is typically thrown away. It helps to know that food scraps are not going to waste away and decompose in a landfill, but will rather be converted into nutrients that nourish plants & the planet! Additionally, our trash pile has gone down and doesn't smell as bad!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

Spending time outdoors helps you realize how gigantic the world is, and how small you are. This is an important perspective to ingrain in your life and reflect in your daily attitude.

I learned that the dates on foods are not safety dates, and food is not considered "spoiled" after the date posted!! This changes everything!
