Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Fresh Water
Eco-friendly Gardening
I will plant native species, landscape with water-efficient plants, and use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Fresh Water
Dishwasher Efficiency
I will scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading into the dishwasher and only run the dishwasher when it’s full.
Forests
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area while following CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Forests
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 2 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Forests
Plant Trees
I will plant 3 native tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard.

John Parsons 4/27/2020 1:12 PMIf you are sitting at home during quarantine and feeling like you can’t help during this crisis. Making homemade fabric masks and donating them to folks that need them is one way you can. With a lot of help from my wife we were able to make 35 face masks and donate them to a local nursing home. We were also able to drop off others to friends and family. We were able to repurpose fabric from old blankets and cloths.
