Linda 's actions
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags can be mistaken for food by many wild animals. If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Wildlife
I(ncreasing native plants in my yard
I have been removing invasive plants and planting native Missouri plants in my yard for 6 years. I am increasing that project in terms of percentage of my yard occupied by native plants. This year I will increase that space by at least 10% which will allow my yard to be certified Gold (up from Silver) by the Bring Conservation Home organization.
Wildlife
Research Benefits of Biodiversity
I will spend at least 180 minutes researching how biodiversity positively impacts our world and how the loss of biodiversity harms it.
Wildlife
Support Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to produce fruit. I will spend 300 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Wildlife
Leave No Trace
I will respect and protect biotic communities by practicing the seven principles of Leave No Trace when doing nature activities alone or with family and friends.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect Local, Support Local
We encourage teammates to connect to other local green organizations (including each other) and practice supporting local businesses at least once a week. Re-share a post, order curbside, make a donation to your favorite non-profit, or find a local business to make a purchase from! Let’s keep making St. Louis a greener, healthier, and more sustainable place to live, work, and learn! Have other or more specific actions to add to the Connect Local, Support Local Building Resilience Challenge please email Fbrandt@mobot.org.

Linda Tatum 4/07/2020 9:24 AMI am committed to daily challenges in all categories. However some days do not offer daily action. For instance I do not shop on a daily basis therefore don't decline plastic bags on a daily basis. As for native plants in my yard I do work on that on a daily basis in some way, either adding native plants or caring for those already there.
