Beyond what does or doesn't come out of the tap at home, how do your choices affect freshwater locally and globally?

Single serving plastics being kept out of the system is my goal. Also less micro-plastic in my body, and in wildlife.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?

Turn the water off when brushing teeth and washing hands. We installed an instant-hot faucet to prevent running tap water until it's hot.

    Food Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

I started keeping vegetable scraps in the freezer and will use it to make broth. Coffee grounds will fertilize my garden plants.

    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

Does not surprise me unfortunately. Many people are not aware of best storage practices, and can't/don't always utilize freezing options to save food. Not to mention the sheer amounts of "regular-sized" restaurant servings that go to waste.

I would rather use that $ for vacation or home improvements.
