Though we are coming to the end of eco challenge, we should continue to practice and  sustain the good habit to  save the environment.

Action Track: Building Resilience Support A Sharing Economy
What are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?

It gives flexibility, economic benefits to both the users and providers, building community trust etc. For e.g. we can just open the app, check what mean of transportation is closest to me, reserve it, find it and GO! Sharing economy such as sharing a taxi has obvious benefit of helping us to save money.  Most importantly, I think it helps us to build community trust as it requires the trust and collaboration for us to share the economy.

It is often said that “you can’t feed the world with just organic food.” What is your response to that statement?

    Elpin Goh's avatar
    Elpin Goh 4/27/2020 9:48 PM
Personally, I believe organic food can feed the world.  With proper management, organic farming could produce wide array of foods and contribute to global food security agriculture without significantly affecting yields. Organic farming is widely considered to be a far more sustainable alternative for food production. The lack of pesticides and wider variety of plants enhances biodiversity and giving better soil quality, less damage to climate etc.

I use reusable bags for my grocery shopping. I ensure this is sustainable by always having the reusable bags in my car. Also, I keep my reusable bags next to my shoes cabinet that if I walk to the store or take public transport to the store, I will never forget to bring them along.
