Siddhartha 's actions
Climate
Earth Day Action: Write a Love Letter, Poem, or Song to Earth
I will express my love and gratitude for our Earth by writing a love letter, poem, or song to Earth.
Wildlife
Research a Wild Animal
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning about a wild animal I find interesting, including their life cycle, habitat, ecosystem functions, and interactions with humans (if any!).
Wildlife
Support Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to produce fruit. I will spend 10 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Earth Day Action!: Research and Support Local Organizations
I will spend 10 minutes researching local organizations and businesses in my community, then support one of them by writing a testimonial or positive review, ordering curbside, making a donation to my favorite nonprofit, or supporting them in another way.
Oceans
Learn about Our Oceans
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning about how our oceans support life on Earth by producing oxygen, regulating climate, and providing habitat, food, and jobs.
Climate
Local Climate Issues
I will spend at least 10 minute(s) a day researching climate issues or climate solutions in my local area and share with others through my team feed, social media, or conversations with my peers.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 3 meatless meal(s) and/or 0 vegan meal(s) each day of the challenge.
Food
Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
I will spend at least 5 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
Forests
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 3 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Fresh Water
cold showers
a cold shower has so many benefits health-wise and also good for the environment because you don't have to heat up the water. unless you have a house that runs completely reusable energy than you should try it, either way, its like having 10cups of coffee because you feel alive. don't make it to cold because then you just get extreme cold and shiver for a lot of the day. me in the middle, also you can start out hot then go colder
Forests
Forest-Friendly Foods
I will replace or remove the palm oil, coffee, and cocoa products in my current diet that are known to contribute to deforestation.
Food
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Siddhartha Lama 4/30/2020 5:12 AMlast day of eco challenge.
For the school we should do some kind of program like the eco-challenge and give some prizes if we can and then more people would be interested in a year on or even life long goal to be more sustainable and we can even compete against local schools or individual classes and expand the program so we don't wait till April to do the eco-challenge again. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
