Bianca's actions
Climate
Stay on the Ground
Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally).
Climate
Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy Credits
I will sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option. If my utility does not offer one, I will purchase Renewable Energy Credits to match my usage.
Fresh Water
Dishwasher Efficiency
I will scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading into the dishwasher and only run the dishwasher when it’s full.
Fresh Water
Get Involved in the Water Justice Movement
I will spend at least 15 minutes a day using the resources provided to learn about water justice and find out how I can get involved in local initiatives.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Research Benefits of Biodiversity
I will spend at least 10 minutes researching how biodiversity positively impacts our world and how the loss of biodiversity harms it.
Fresh Water
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Fresh Water
Water-Friendly Beauty Products
Avoid beauty products with micro beads or harsh chemicals that will feed into the ground and your water supply.
Oceans
Learn about Our Oceans
I will spend at least 20 minutes learning about how our oceans support life on Earth by producing oxygen, regulating climate, and providing habitat, food, and jobs.
Climate
Local Climate Issues
I will spend at least 30 minute(s) a day researching climate issues or climate solutions in my local area and share with others through my team feed, social media, or conversations with my peers.
Wildlife
Research a Wild Animal
I will spend at least 15 minutes learning about a wild animal I find interesting, including their life cycle, habitat, ecosystem functions, and interactions with humans (if any!).
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Bianca Li 4/15/2020 8:58 PMBecause of the COVID19 pandemic, my family and I started to cycling around in my neighborhood. Walking and cycling are sometimes a better choice of transportation than driving to enhance urban quality. And of course, it is good exercise to keep ourselves healthy.-
Louise Ng 4/16/2020 2:18 AMFully agreed and it's a nice practice :)

Bianca Li 4/13/2020 7:24 PMWildfire is just edge closer to Chernobyl nuclear plant. What is causing natural wildfire and what danger would it draw? -
Bianca Li 4/09/2020 12:41 AMNot all kinds of paper packaging can be recycled. Paper with lamination and foil cannot. Anymore guidance? -
Bianca Li 4/05/2020 7:04 PMI actually don't understand how "saving water bottle" run. I never really buy water from supermark.-
Louisa Lubiak 4/05/2020 7:27 PMIf you never buy bottled water from the supermarket you are "saving a water bottle" from going into the trash. Unfortunately, the bottle is already in the supermarket for someone else to buy. Thank you for your care & concern for Earth.
