REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Sabina Osman 4/01/2020 11:02 AMComposting really makes you understand how much food is typically thrown away. It helps to know that food scraps are not going to waste away and decompose in a landfill, but will rather be converted into nutrients that nourish plants & the planet! Additionally, our trash pile has gone down and doesn't smell as bad! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building ResilienceRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Sabina Osman 4/01/2020 11:01 AMSpending time outdoors helps you realize how gigantic the world is, and how small you are. This is an important perspective to ingrain in your life and reflect in your daily attitude. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Sabina Osman 3/30/2020 8:43 AMI learned that the dates on foods are not safety dates, and food is not considered "spoiled" after the date posted!! This changes everything!
