People
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 10 piece(s) of litter each day while following the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.
Food
Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
I will spend at least 30 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 60 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 2 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Support Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators, including monarch butterflies, to produce fruit. I will spend 120 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Katherine-Anne Skinner 4/10/2020 8:09 AMI knew there was a reason I was putting off finding a tree for my garden besides the fact my heart broke when my ash tree, bored by the Emerald Ash Borer had to be cut down (30' high and beautiful!) - I needed to be looking for a pollinator friendly tree. Today, I was reminded, in my pollinator research, that the serviceberry - amelanchier - is such a tree and, wanting the tallest version of it found the Allegheny. Next fall I'll find one to plant! -
Katherine-Anne Skinner 4/05/2020 2:17 PMNot planting yet. I just ordered the seeds from 'Urban Harvest Organic Seeds' last week - but ordered the seeds I could direct sow now - beets, carrots, chard, lettuce, peas, radishes and spinach - it will help my once a week shop for two weeks of stuff - Karma Co-op one week then Fiesta Farms the next week. -
Katherine-Anne Skinner 4/05/2020 6:37 AMLost track of this challenge for the past couple of days - time seems to slip away more easily when there is so little planned. Back on track this morning with starting my day gardening and spending the morning outside.-
Norah Bolton 4/05/2020 11:05 AMGood that you are getting out - and look forward to hearing what you are planting

Katherine-Anne Skinner 4/02/2020 10:58 AMThanks Norah - I too was stymied by the 5 daily challenge bit, but unlike you backed down. I'm going to work on my five and see how it goes for the week but have no idea how to add any more challenges. I'll contact you when/if I need to - you're my newest technology guru!-
Jo-Ann Dawson 4/04/2020 8:23 PMIf you look on the left side of your dashboard, there are black buttons outlined in light gray. I think edit actions is the one that will take you back to new challenges.

Katherine-Anne Skinner 4/01/2020 2:34 PMI was pleased I could figure out how this works! All I need to know is how to get back onto my dashboard after I log out!-
Norah Bolton 4/02/2020 9:49 AMYou are not alone. The buttons on the top of the screen are not as intuitive as they might be!
