Oceans
Join a Cleanup Effort
I will host or participate in a trash pickup at a local river or beach that follows the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.
Forests
Plant Trees
I will plant 15 native tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard.
Wildlife
Research a Wild Animal
I will spend at least 60 minutes learning about a wild animal I find interesting, including their life cycle, habitat, ecosystem functions, and interactions with humans (if any!).
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags can be mistaken for food by many wild animals. If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Forests
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area while following CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONForests Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
hazel yoshino 4/11/2020 5:33 AMWhen i went on a walk with my grandma, we found acorns. some of them were sprouted. I soaked and planted these acorns. I hope they will survive. these are the steps to planting an acorn. Step 1: you have to soak the acorn in water for 24 hours. Step 2: you have to plant the acorn. Sorry, but those are the only steps. Hope that this information will encourage people to plant more trees. The Earth needs us.-
Laurie Husted 4/13/2020 7:42 AMI was surprised that they are red inside - there are SO many acorns this year. I wonder how you have to treat them in order to make them edible?
