Ramblers Go Green Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Today I watched Harry Potter and it got me thinkin'... if we could all fly on broomsticks, then there wouldn't be any smog.

Today was a reusable bag day! We went to the store and used as few bags as possible. It was kind of fun and made me think more about the food I'm eating and the waste that I am creating.

On the last day of ecochallenge I am looking back on this past month and reflecting. Ecochallenge really did keep me going outside and feeling connected with nature and my fellow challengers. I hope to carry many of the lessons I learned forward with me. Thank you ecochallenge! Stay safe and healthy!

Many plants rely on pollinators for survival. Pollinators are important for creating and maintaining the habitats and ecosystems that many animals rely on for food and shelter. Pollinators also play an important role in crops grown for human consumption. And of course, most of the flowering plants that add beauty to our communities rely on pollinators!

I read an article about the top ten ways to contribute to biodiversity in my neighborhood. Some of their suggestions include planting native species in my yard, reducing my carbon footprint, reducing my water use, reducing my waste generation and supporting local farmers. I will work on improving in all of these areas!

Finally, a nice warm day! Walked around Humboldt park today admiring the Chicago skyline. What a breath of fresh air, I can’t wait until it’s warm out!

It finally felt warm today!!! It was such a joy to get outside for a bit. I miss hanging out in parks with people, I miss hugging my friends. This is so hard! But we keep going...sending love to all my fellow ecochallengers  today!
