BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

In previous challenges, I found myself forgetting all about reusable bags.  I made it a habit of folding them and returning them directly to my car.  That way when I got to the grocery store they were right there when I needed them!

It is very grounding to connect with nature.  There is a sense of belonging when you explore the area around you.

I have found myself connecting more with those people that are most important to me.  I feel more energized after a great video chat.  It helps greatly to check on those who are social distancing alone.  It is not so much fun to talk to yourself all the time!  =)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife Research a Wild Animal
What interesting facts did you learn about the animal you researched? What are some of your favorite things about this animal?

The opossum eats lots of insect and bugs we do not like, for example mosquitos and ticks.  They are actually very friendly and will do their best to ward off other animals by hissing at them.

It’s going great.  Hard to believe this is the last day.  I do wish I’d spent more time signing in and completing tasks, however I did learn a lot and found lots of places to read up on items of interest.

One of my daily action challenges was to get out of the house every day; I'm not sure 30 days was a long enough practice period for that to be a persistent change. Another one was to reach out and connect with people to counteract some effects of social distancing; I found that to be excessive for me and needed to add time where I wasn't connecting by phone or video. Interesting.

With our kid home for the duration, we've been filling up that dishwasher almost every two days! Amazing how much a 26-year-old man eats.

This challenge was great! It definitely made me think more about the environmental impacts of my day to day actions/activities.
