Earth Day Action: Write a Love Letter, Poem, or Song to Earth
I will express my love and gratitude for our Earth by writing a love letter, poem, or song to Earth.
Climate
Local Climate Issues
I will spend at least 20 minute(s) a day researching climate issues or climate solutions in my local area and share with others through my team feed, social media, or conversations with my peers.
People
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 45 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
People
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 1 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Get Involved in the Water Justice Movement
I will spend at least 10 minutes a day using the resources provided to learn about water justice and find out how I can get involved in local initiatives.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Earth Day Together! Earth Day Action: Write a Love Letter, Poem, or Song to EarthWhat are you grateful for about our planet? Share what you created or your general thoughts of love and gratitude with everyone else!
Raynna Jackson 4/21/2020 4:06 PMI am grateful for the area that I live in. I am grateful that the trees and plants are still growing strong with all the CO2 in the air. I am grateful to have lungs and legs that give me the opportunity to go outside. I will share my earth day song tomorrow on for Earth's birthday. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Raynna Jackson 4/16/2020 12:08 PMConnecting with others allows me to realize that I am not alone during these hard times. It gives me a boost of inspiration and/or motivation because I am being present with someone else. One way I can help support others is by listening to them and givng them virtual love and kindess. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Raynna Jackson 4/16/2020 12:06 PMI think everyone will experience a different connection to nature. Some people haven't at all and that is why it is so important to go outside and love your surroundings. Going outside for a few minutes can change your life, and some people don't see that. I reallly hope they do some day. -
Raynna Jackson 4/13/2020 1:40 PMI woke up today feeling inspired to go for a run instead of my daily walk. I ran a little farther than my average walk length and it was a beautiful experience. I got to see the sun rise and smell the fresh crisp air.
