Action Track: Building Resilience
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Use Muscle Power
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 2 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Food
Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
I will spend at least 5 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
Food
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Anne Morse 4/12/2020 2:37 PMConnecting with others during this time is super important as I am pregnant and due in a few weeks. This would normally be a time that I would be relying on friends and family for support and hopefully enrolling my three year old in preschool to help alleviate the stress of having a new baby. Now that is all up in the air, I feel the need to connect any way that I can -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Anne Morse 4/12/2020 2:33 PMWe have always been active composters, but once our compost bin broke, it took a good couple months for me of throwing my food in the garbage, to go ahead and buy a new bin so that we can start up again. I know this was a fairly easy thing for me to do, and I feel good now that we are starting up again. We have two active composts-- one for food waste that is entirely contained to keep out the rats and another for yard waste that is open.
