I have been sharing a lot with friends and neighbors.  A set of onions were given to me and I then passed along some to two other people.  My chickens are in double time so I gave away eggs to a coworker whose partner is a hospital worker.  I'm hoping these small acts are keeping my community safer even if in the tiniest way.

I have been trading and sharing things with friends and neighbors so much! I have been keeping things super local but my egg customer gave me lots of onions so i shared with two other neighbors and gave a bunch of eggs away to a coworker to help keep them out of the supermarket.

Action Track: Building Resilience Get Involved in the Water Justice Movement
Who is affected by polluted water or a lack of access to water in your region? How are they affected?

Farmers and ranchers are most commonly effected by polluted water in the Rogue Valley.  I have learned though that everyone is impacted by water pollution.  There are different areas of the Rogue River that are deemed safe to be in but one of the highest pollution rates comes from just South of the headwaters which means that the "Wild and Scenic" portion of the river is still seeing pollution from a couple hundred miles up stream.

Action Track: Building Resilience Support A Sharing Economy
What are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?

Does it count as a sharing economy if I am just giving people things?  I have a friend who recently bought a home and is building a garden for her family.  I had some extra soil amendments that I sent to her; I never got the chance to give her a housewarming gift so maybe this counts as one of those?

Action Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social Distancing
How does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?

Connecting with others reminds me that I still need people.  I often like to pretend that I am so independent that I don't need community.  I am so wrong in this thought process.  I have to consciously correct this thinking but once I do I feel more whole and fulfilled than before.  I forget I need to stretch my social butterfly wings sometimes.

How can you encourage biodiversity by your own actions?

By mimicking the environment around us we will be able to live in conjunction with the environment.  I love the idea of using the natural environment and minimizing the impact we have to create a stronger connection.  We are learning what all that means now that we live in a world full of stuff and our basic needs are developing to include things like internet and phones.

Creating cross industry connections are important to spreading awareness.  I was a guest on a podcast recording today to talk about the relationship between the cannabis industry and local food system.
