REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Cheryl Turney 4/30/2020 7:12 PMConnecting with others helps me feel grounded and part of a larger reality than that of my own small space. Others are likely also to feel more grounded and part of a larger reality when connecting. -
Cheryl Turney 4/28/2020 7:48 PMI joined the challenge and chose the actions I did to reinforce good practices that I intend. It helps me give attention to small things that done repeatedly can make a difference. It helps me do them, even when I don't record them! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPeople Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Cheryl Turney 4/28/2020 7:45 PMIt requires me to walk slowly and to observe closely. The littler provides evidence of the humans who were present and what they were doing, increasing my awareness of the people and their lives. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFresh Water Use a Reusable Water BottleUsing the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed - both humans and wildlife - by this bottling process?
Cheryl Turney 4/28/2020 7:43 PMI think the best way to advocate is not to use bottled water at all and instead to consistently model how easy it is to manage ones own reusable bottle for water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Cheryl Turney 4/28/2020 7:40 PMIt helps me to select and use food items that are still good, rather than discarding and buying new ones to benefit the large producers and stores. -
Cheryl Turney 4/15/2020 5:38 AMEven though I'm mostly doing the daily actions I signed up for, I often forget to go to the dashboard to record. I wish it allowed for making entries for more than one day at a time so I could catch up the record to match what I'm doing.-
Thomas Fletcher 4/21/2020 10:19 AMOk. Cheryl, it looks like you've figured out that you can scroll down to the rows of circles with dates and update your actions for several days back. -
Cheryl Turney 4/15/2020 10:13 AMAfter my earlier posting, I discovered that one can make entries for past days--but just the past few. Today April 15 I was able to make updates going back to April 11. -
Betsy Bickel 4/15/2020 7:20 AMI have had the same experience. At first I didn't realize I needed to check in every day and now I just forget to do it.
