Marjie's actions
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags can be mistaken for food by many wild animals. If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Connect While Social Distancing
I will connect with at least 3 person/people a day through phone call or video chat to support mine and other’s mental and emotional health during this challenging time.
Action Track: Building Resilience
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside that follows CDC guidelines for preventing disease spread.
Fresh Water
Dishwasher Efficiency
I will scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading into the dishwasher and only run the dishwasher when it’s full.
Fresh Water
Conserve Toilet Water
I will save up to 12 gallons (45 L) of water a day by flushing only when necessary.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Marjie Wolfe 4/30/2020 5:03 AMIt is always great to look at the things needed to help the environment. This month the challenges reminded me that we can all do things to help. Small or large, every effort matters to keep our world clean and beautiful. Be well, safe, and leave only footprints when you wander... -
Marjie Wolfe 4/17/2020 2:09 PMI have not been out and about much, but it sure is a bit disheartening to see gloves discarded in shopping carts and on the ground the last few times I have been out. Normally I would pick up trash I see in parking lots and along roadsides, but I did not the last time I was out. Fear of germs never stopped me before. Sad. People are getting sick, trying to protect themselves, and then just continue to pollute the environment. As a person who constantly tries to look for the positives, this just really makes me sad. I know we can do better. The earth deserves our care. I will strive to do more, and to teach others the real reasons to be eco friendly, and care for more than just our own little spaces. The whole earth needs each one to do our part. Peace, love and beauty to all... -
Marjie Wolfe 4/08/2020 8:08 PMDistancing is causing more on line and phone talk time... a bit more learning time, and much more out in the yard time, but I always love being outside as much as possible. Beauty in the ordinary abounds. -

Marjie Wolfe 4/02/2020 12:19 PMWelcome to a few new people today. I hope everyone stays healthy, and keeps our earth clean and beautiful! Our wildlife depend on us to have safe homes too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlife Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Marjie Wolfe 4/01/2020 2:49 PMI usually try to just carry the things out without a bag. Mostly I have a reusable bag with me. If I have to accept a plastic bag I will reuse it too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Marjie Wolfe 4/01/2020 2:41 PMBeing outdoors brings me close to the Creator. I believe getting outdoors into the yard, parks, or trails even for just a few moments a day, can help people relax. There is so much beauty to be found outdoors in nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Connect While Social DistancingHow does connecting with others help your own mental and emotional health? How can it help support others?
Marjie Wolfe 4/01/2020 2:35 PMConnecting with others gives me support, & at the same time I can help them. I am always willing to listen to the needs of others.
