Berkshire Earth Expo Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

I learned about the "Rights of Nature" movement today and that Sheffield, MA, a town not far from here, will be the first in Massachusetts to vote on a resolution giving the Housatonic river the formal and legal right to be healthy and thrive. I am so moved by the effort of the people who made this possible and hope it will pass at the town meeting.

Sorry I haven't been more active in the past few days... I did most of my challenges but forgot to enter them!

The last day of the Eco-challenge. I'm happy to have been in this collective effort to bring more awareness and actions to our planet which so needs our attention. I do feel there is a lot more we could all do and feel committed to educating myself more especially now that we see how concerted efforts with the Pandemic makes such a difference and why not apply this concerted and forward looking effort to our environment.

This Eco Challenge is almost over but it remains and will remain in my consciousness in particular to be so much more resourceful and economical and to continue to take good care of my self on the physical level and to continue to research how I can help the environment and to take actions to do so.

I am learning a lot doing this challenge. Strangely, I am learning how much I am actually doing...most things go unnoticed until this tool asks me to think about my day and record certain actions. I really appreciated running into Ephemerals today, here is one of them....tiny beauties that made my day.

Saw today the film Planet of the Humans produced by Michael Moore. The film is a kind of critique in a way of green renewables like Solar, Wind and BioMass showing how these renewables like Solar and Wind require an enormous amount of fossil fuel energy to build them and also in some cases destroy a lot of natural wildlife and biomass is very much about using wood from forests. There is more but I won't go into everything but to me one of the main messages is we, on this planet, cannot sustain life on this planet by endless use of resources and thinking we can live by endlessly acquiring more and more.

I am very mindful these days on what I eat and not wanting to waste any food. Every day I reflect upon what I will cook and make sure it's healthy. I also think about variety and make sure I'm eating different vegetables as much as possible.
