Anne Legene 4/30/2020 2:39 PMIt was fun to do this... Thanks for organizing it, Uli! -
Anne Legene 4/30/2020 2:38 PMSorry I haven't been more active in the past few days... I did most of my challenges but forgot to enter them! -
Anne Legene 4/22/2020 10:26 AMI have been enjoying the few warmer dry days working in my garden... I dug up the compost and spread it in the vegetable garden. Several of the freshly composted beds are now seeded with carrots, radish, lettuce and kale. Last fall we had someone come with a wood chipper to chip the brush piles. I used the wood chips on the paths is the vegetable garden. In the past I used cedar chips that come in big plastic bags, and who knows, perhaps from virgin forests in Canada. So I feel good about not burning the brush pile, covering the earth in the garden, and saving on the plastic. I will be using leaf mold to cover the beds once the veggies come up. My neighbor's leaf blowing company is always happy to dump their leaves down my hill, where they not only suppress the bishops weed, but also decompose into "gardener's gold". I've been pulling out lots of garlic mustard and bishops weed. This is the best time of year to do it. No serious tick bites yet! -
Anne Legene 4/22/2020 10:08 AMSince toilet paper has become scarce, I am consciously using less. During one of my daily check-ins, this one with my little granddaughter, we made little folks out of toilet paper rolls. -
Anne Legene 4/16/2020 6:40 AMAnother question, do I have to check the blue boxes to earn my points or are they generated automatically?-
Judy Fox 4/17/2020 3:29 AMI am pretty sure you have to check them yourself and they are not generated automatically.

Anne Legene 4/16/2020 6:39 AMIs there a way to retroactively fill in a day's actions? I have been pretty consistent with my actions but haven't always checked in... Also, whole weeks go by without going out in the car, does that count toward "using muscle power"? -
Anne Legene 4/13/2020 9:17 AMIt has taken me a bit of time to "work" this challenge, so I haven't reported all my accomplishments every day, but I've been on it. -
Anne Legene 4/13/2020 9:16 AMI wrote a letter to the editor today, through the Center of Biological Diversity, about the EPA rollback of pollution enforcement, tying it in with climate change, COVID19, and contrasting the opportunistic, callous and heartless exploitation of the crisis by the administration with the way this crisis is allowing us to connect deeper to nature and reflect on our mortality and interconnectedness.-
Anne Legene 4/22/2020 10:12 AMMy letter was not posted. I wrote it through a format that the Center of Biological Diversity had set up. Apparently more people wrote to the Eagle on the subject, because someone else's letter did get in. I'm disappointed because my letter was better! But I guess they have posted a couple of my letters in the past already, so it was someone else's turn.
