Food sovereignty is the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems. Through food sovereignty, people will have rights vs. today's system of Big Ag owning the food that is produced, what pesticides and chemicals it is treated with and what we as the consumers eventually consume.

Despite living in the NW, we face droughts each summer, and we have a high focus on storm water run-off.  To help, as I've helped friends put in new landscaping and added more at my own property, I continue to utilized native plants, and those that are known for low water needs.

Challenge has been good.  While I try to live earth friendly all of the time, the challenge has been very effective at helping me learn more and focus on my personal actions.
