While I struggled with finding the right way to support my community, coordinating my community garden is a good fit. I also made some facemasks to distribute to friends and family and, hopefully, slow the spread. While I haven't done it yet, I am really excited to do some gurilla gardening - pruning street trees and weeding in public spaces that look neglected. These are things that bring me joy and I think make others feel better as they move through the community.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

This does not surprise me considering the amount of food waste I see in my household. We have been actively working on reducing this, and have been successful.

Since I moved to St. Louis, biking through Forest Park has been an important part of my enjoyment of the city. Getting some fresh air and enjoying the scenery on my commute makes me feel better overall and definitely improves my workday.
