Recent updates from this team-
April 30 at 8:10 PMI always pick up litter whenever I see it just so it doesn't end up in our surface waters. I also limit my water use when showering, flushing, or even washing my face.

April 30 at 7:42 PMWhat a quick month! I didn't always do the best job checking in, but it was nice to have some form of accountability, and I enjoyed getting to learn some new things along the way. I hope this challenged has helped folks create some new habits that they will continue sustaining beyond Earth Month.

April 30 at 7:41 PMI think the biggest thing I can do is to protest things companies as much as possible, and bring a reusable water bottle wherever I go. I can also encourage others to use reusable water bottles, and encourage companies/organizations not to offer them as well.
-
April 30 at 7:40 PMYes. I think that we have less motivation to take care of nature because we don't feel very connected to it, don't necessarily understand why it's important or what's at risk, and we're probably more likely to abuse it without realizing it, unfortunately :(

April 30 at 7:38 PMMost recently, I have started turning off the water while washing my hands for 20 seconds. To be successful in this, I need to be going about my day more consciously instead of on autopilot.
-
April 30 at 7:36 PMI can advocate for the protection of natural spaces and endangered species, I can plant a garden, I can support farmers who plant a wide variety of crops and avoid farmers who monocrop.
-
April 30 at 1:45 PMI saw raccoon knocking on the front door of my house in the woods at night before, so researching about them is fun. They are nocturnal, so they may come to your backyard at night to look for some food. They enjoy pet food too! As much as it's tempting for me to feed them when I see them, it's recommended that we don't create any human contact...
-
April 30 at 1:21 PMI recently started using DIY solar powered phone charger. One way to enforce this habit is to hide away the regular phone charger, so that I'm relying on this renewable energy source for my power.
-
April 30 at 1:16 PMOceans act as an enormous carbon sink of this planet and is home to over 200 thousands species. One way I can take care of the ocean is to choose sustainable skin products (sunscreen, lotion) that will not affect the water body when I swim in the ocean.
-
April 30 at 1:13 PMAt the moment, my seafood choices are not falling within the guidelines; I have been eating the same two types of fish and one type of shrimp for years. I will make an effort to learn more about what I should and should not eat to help sustain the food chain. Changing habits is hard, but I think I'll get it over time.
